The Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN) has called on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to concentrate on presenting his policies to Nigerians instead of seeking foreign intervention in Nigeria's political landscape. This appeal was made by Mazi Clement Ngoforo, the Deputy National Leader (Southeast) of RHGN, during the launch of the campaign for President Bola Tinubu's re-election in Jos, Plateau State.

Ngoforo emphasized that candidates should engage with the electorate directly, arguing that reliance on external influences could undermine the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process. He stated that any presidential aspirant must demonstrate their capability to win over voters through their own proposals and vision for the country.

“If Atiku believes Nigerians do not want Tinubu, he should go to Nigerians and persuade them. If he believes Tinubu is legally unqualified, he should make his case under Nigerian law,” Ngoforo asserted. His comments reflect a growing sentiment among Tinubu’s supporters that the focus should remain on domestic issues rather than external pressures.

The RHGN leader further urged Nigerians to reject any political tactics that might invite undue foreign influence in the electoral process. He stressed that the upcoming 2027 general election should be an opportunity for Nigerians to assert their sovereignty by choosing their leader through the ballot.

Ngoforo highlighted that the election process should remain within the bounds of Nigerian jurisdiction, stating, “The Nigerian President will not be elected in an American school, lobbying office or courtroom; he will be elected by Nigerians, on Nigerian soil, through the Nigerian ballot.” He encouraged voters to support Tinubu, citing the administration's achievements and ongoing development initiatives as key reasons for their backing.

In his closing remarks, Ngoforo called on RHGN members and supporters to enhance grassroots mobilization efforts across the country, reinforcing the importance of local engagement in the political process. He reiterated that any disputes regarding the election should be resolved within the Nigerian legal framework, urging all candidates to respect the country’s laws and democratic principles.
