Atiku Abubakar announces 2027 election as his final presidential bid
Atiku Abubakar has declared that the 2027 election will mark his last attempt at the presidency.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has publicly stated that the upcoming 2027 election will be his final attempt to secure the presidency of Nigeria. This announcement was made during a recent Facebook live session, where the former vice president expressed his long-standing ambition to lead the country.
Having previously served as Nigeria's vice president from 1999 to 2007, Atiku has had a lengthy political career, marked by multiple bids for the presidency and shifts between various political parties. Despite his extensive experience in Nigerian politics, he emphasized that regardless of the outcome in 2027, it will be his last time contesting for the highest office in the land. "Whether I win or lose, 2027 will be my last time contesting for the presidency," he stated.
In addition to his electoral announcement, Atiku also made serious allegations regarding the educational qualifications of the current president, Bola Tinubu. He claimed that Tinubu's academic certificates are forged, raising concerns about the integrity of the president's credentials. Atiku remarked, "I was the one who raised the issue surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic certificates, and I stand by my position that there was forgery. It is unacceptable for the President of Nigeria to have such questions surrounding his academic credentials."
These assertions come at a time when the political landscape in Nigeria is heating up as various candidates prepare for the 2027 elections. Atiku's declaration of his final candidacy and his allegations against President Tinubu are likely to stir significant debate among voters and political analysts alike. With the elections still some time away, the implications of these statements may shape the political discourse leading up to the polls.
