Earlier in the day, Adeleke had met with President Tinubu, where he expressed gratitude for the electoral process that led to his victory. The Independent National Electoral Commission announced Adeleke as the winner after he secured 511,067 votes, surpassing his closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who garnered 444,815 votes. Notably, Adeleke achieved victory in 19 out of 30 local government areas in Osun State.

Following his meeting with Tinubu, Adeleke stated, "Yeah, that is why I’m here to thank Mr. President, the father of the nation, because he fought for this democracy. That is why he allowed free and fair election, and that is the result."
