Tinubu announces new military formations and infrastructure improvements across Nigeria
President Tinubu confirms new military deployments in four states and fast-tracked barracks construction.

In a significant move to bolster Nigeria's security, President Bola Tinubu has announced the establishment of new military formations in four states, aimed at enhancing the Nigerian Army's response to security threats. The new operational bases will be located in Zamfara, Kebbi, Oyo, and Osun states, bringing troops closer to vulnerable communities.
Speaking as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Tinubu emphasized that this strategic deployment would enable soldiers to act swiftly in emergencies, thus improving the military's effectiveness in safeguarding lives. "This will allow our troops to respond faster to security threats in those areas," he stated during his announcement.
In addition to troop deployments, the president revealed that the government is accelerating the construction of military barracks and depots across five states. While facilities in Osun have already been completed, projects are also underway in Abuja, Ekiti, Ebonyi, and Kogi states. This infrastructure development is part of Tinubu's commitment to enhance the operational capacity of the armed forces.
Tinubu highlighted the importance of supporting military personnel and their families, especially as the government demands more from them in the field. He acknowledged the positive impact of a recent pay increase for soldiers, noting that many servicemen and women have expressed how this financial boost has improved their household situations.
As we demand more from our men and women in uniform, we must do more to support them and their families," Tinubu asserted, underlining his administration's dedication to the welfare of military families. He recognized the sacrifices made by these families, stating, "Every deployment is a sacrifice made by a family too.
The president's announcement comes at a time when the Nigerian military is actively engaged in operations across various states facing challenges such as banditry and insurgency. The new formations and infrastructure upgrades are expected to strengthen the military's capabilities and enhance security in these regions, reflecting Tinubu's ongoing commitment to national safety and military readiness.
