Couple attacked by pet pit bull while inspecting rental house in shocking video
A couple was attacked by their pet pit bull during a rental house inspection, as shown in a shocking video. The incident has raised concerns about pet safety and responsible dog ownership.
A couple suffered multiple injuries after they were attacked by a pitbull in Patiala's Ghuman Nagar area, India.
CCTV footage of the incident is now circulating on social media.
The attack took place on Tuesday evening, August 11, when Ankit Sabharwal and his wife Shifali went to Ghuman Nagar with a property dealer to inspect a house they were considering renting.
According to Ankit, the pitbull rushed out as soon as the house gate was opened and attacked his wife. The dog mauled her arm and other parts of her body, leaving her with deep injuries that required surgery.
She is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
Ankit also suffered deep bite wounds on his legs and back while attempting to rescue his wife.
The CCTV footage shows the dog attacking the couple as nearby residents try to fend it off with sticks.
A woman is seen coming out of the house with a stick, but is unable to stop the animal. Later, two to three more people approach with sticks and manage to pull the injured couple away.
Ankit said police have been informed and sought action against those responsible for allowing the dog to roam freely.
The incident has renewed concerns over dog attacks in Patiala.
