A married woman, identified as Mrs. Rulayat Muhammed, has been arrested by the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command in connection with the death of her alleged lover at a guest house in Gwarimpa, Abuja. The incident occurred at the Good Samaritan Guest House, where the couple reportedly spent time together before the man suddenly died during their encounter.

FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, disclosed the details during a press briefing where he paraded the suspect alongside other individuals apprehended by the police. According to the commissioner, after the man’s death, Mrs. Muhammed allegedly took his mobile phone and left the guest house without notifying the management of the situation.

The hotel staff later discovered the deceased's body but opted not to report the incident to the police. Instead, two employees, Ibrahim Omeiza and Kefat Bitrus, are accused of moving the body and abandoning it under the Katampe bridge in Kubwa. The police were alerted to the lifeless body found on August 26, 2026, leading to an investigation that uncovered the circumstances surrounding the death.

Initial reports suggested that the body might be linked to a kidnapping or robbery, but further investigation revealed that the deceased had been reported missing by his family. The police traced the last communication from the deceased's mobile phone, which led them to Mrs. Muhammed, who was found to have saved his contact under the name "Safiyat."

During questioning, Mrs. Muhammed reportedly informed investigators that she realized her lover had stopped breathing and had died. However, rather than reporting the incident, she left the guest house with his phone, raising suspicions about her involvement.

The police commissioner emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that the exact cause of death has yet to be determined. He stated that anyone found to have played a role in the death or the subsequent concealment of the body would face legal consequences. Sanusi also urged the public to refrain from hiding information that could obstruct law enforcement efforts.

This case highlights the police command's commitment to thoroughly investigating incidents and uncovering the truth behind them. The authorities are determined to pursue all leads to ensure that justice is served in this troubling case.
