Nigerian campaign worker arrested in Pennsylvania for indecent exposure
Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, a Nigerian canvasser, faces legal troubles after an incident in Pennsylvania.

A Nigerian national, Chimaobim Adedayo Igbojekwe, has been arrested by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) following a guilty plea to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from an indecent exposure incident. The arrest occurred in East Pennsboro Township, Pennsylvania, on September 27, 2026, while Igbojekwe was working as a canvasser for Janelle Stelson, the Democratic nominee for Pennsylvania’s 10th congressional district.
According to a statement from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Igbojekwe was found with his trousers down, exposing himself in a residential area close to a park where children were present. This incident raised significant concerns among local residents and authorities. After pleading guilty to the disorderly conduct charge, Igbojekwe was subsequently arrested by ICE on October 1, 2026.
Charles Wall, Deputy Director of ICE, expressed strong disapproval regarding Igbojekwe’s employment by Stelson, labeling him as a "pervert" and criticizing the decision to hire an individual who was in the country illegally. Wall emphasized the agency's commitment to removing dangerous illegal aliens from American communities, stating, "It’s unbelievable that Janelle Stelson would employ an illegal alien to work on a Congressional campaign, let alone a pervert who exposed himself in public."
The Department of Homeland Security revealed that Igbojekwe had initially entered the United States legally in June 2017. However, he overstayed his authorized period of stay, which expired in November 2019. In September 2021, he was granted deferred action under the Biden administration, allowing him to remain in the country temporarily. The statement did not elaborate on the current status of his immigration proceedings.
This incident has sparked discussions about the implications of employing individuals with questionable legal statuses in political campaigns, as well as the broader issues surrounding immigration enforcement in the United States. As the case unfolds, it remains to be seen how it will affect the ongoing congressional campaign in Pennsylvania and the future of Igbojekwe’s legal status.
