A tragic incident in Katsina State has led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man, Sada Tambai, who is accused of killing his 80-year-old father, Adamu Tambai. The event unfolded in Bindawa Local Government Area on September 21, 2026, prompting a swift response from the local police following a distress call.

According to the Katsina State Police Command, the alarm was raised by the District Head of Bindawa, Dan Yusufan Katsina, who reported that Adamu Tambai was found unresponsive in front of his home. Upon arrival, police detectives discovered the elderly man lying motionless and immediately transported him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, medical staff pronounced him dead upon arrival.

In the wake of the incident, preliminary investigations pointed to Sada Tambai as the primary suspect. During police interrogation, he allegedly confessed to striking his father on the head with a stick, resulting in the fatal injuries that led to his father's death.

The police statement confirmed the arrest and indicated that the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation. The Commissioner of Police for Katsina State, CP Ali Umar Fage, has emphasized the importance of a detailed inquiry into the matter.
