The Jigawa State Hisbah Board has taken significant action by arresting eight individuals in Kazaure Local Government Area over alleged homosexual activities. This development follows a formal complaint lodged by a 22-year-old man who claimed that he had been involved in sexual acts with nine different individuals on several occasions.

According to Dauda Hadejia, the Public Relations Officer of the Hisbah Board, the complainant reported that he subsequently contracted HIV, which he attributed to these encounters. His appeal for justice highlighted what he described as deception and actions that had severely impacted his life.

In response to the complaint, Hisbah operatives initiated an investigation, leading to the arrest of eight suspects. Hadejia stated, "Our men swung into action after receiving the complaint and so far eight suspects have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to arrest the remaining suspect." During preliminary investigations, the arrested individuals reportedly admitted to engaging in sexual acts with the complainant.

The Hisbah Board has indicated that it has gathered substantial evidence and information that will be presented in court as part of the ongoing legal process. Hadejia emphasized the importance of community vigilance, quoting the Deputy Commander-General of the Jigawa State Hisbah Board, Dr. Hussain Baban, who urged parents to closely monitor their children's upbringing and associations.

Dr. Baban also called on the public to be mindful of their actions and the potential consequences, reinforcing the Hisbah Board's commitment to addressing issues related to morality and public decency. He expressed gratitude to the Jigawa State Government for its support in enabling the Hisbah Board to fulfill its responsibilities effectively.

As the investigation continues, the Hisbah Board is preparing to charge the suspects in court once all necessary procedures are completed, marking a significant step in their efforts to uphold the laws and moral standards of the state.
