Nollywood actress Ronke Ojo, widely known as Ronke Oshodi-Oke, has openly acknowledged that she accepts monetary support to endorse political figures. In a recent interview with African A-List, which was shared on YouTube, she urged the public not to criticize her for her choices in the political arena.

During the interview, Oshodi-Oke expressed her reluctance to engage in discussions about Nigerian politics, labeling it as "dirty." She emphasized that her acceptance of financial support is primarily for her livelihood, stating, "If you see me behind any politician, just see it as if she is looking for something to put food on the table. Just leave, let her eat. Do not insult or drag me."

Oshodi-Oke's comments come at a time when many public figures are scrutinized for their involvement in politics, especially when financial incentives are involved. She clarified that her actions should not be interpreted as an endorsement of any specific candidate or party, stating, "I am not saying you should not vote for whoever you want to vote for."

In addition to her political views, the actress shared insights into her personal life, particularly her relationship with fellow actress Sotayo Gaga. The two have not communicated for about five to six years due to a disagreement, although Oshodi-Oke clarified that they are not at odds. She revealed that Sotayo sent her N150,000 after learning about her health issues, but they have not spoken since then, often passing each other without acknowledgment at social events.

Oshodi-Oke also took the opportunity to discuss her health challenges, marital struggles, and experiences as a mother in the entertainment industry. She reflected on how her illness affected her perspective on life and relationships, leading her to join the Celestial Church of Christ during her recovery. She emphasized that she respects individuals of all faiths and does not condemn those who follow different religions.

Her candid remarks highlight the complexities faced by public figures in Nigeria, particularly in balancing personal beliefs and professional obligations within the often tumultuous political landscape.
