Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies in combating crime, following their successful operation that led to the arrest of three suspected kidnappers. This commendation comes after the DSS rescued a victim who had been abducted in the state.

The governor's remarks were shared in a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, which was released in Lafia, the state capital. According to the statement, one suspect was apprehended at a hideout in Atabula, located in the Duduguru community of the Jenkwe Development Area. The other two suspects were tracked down at a hotel in Lafia. In addition to the arrests, security operatives dismantled the criminals' makeshift camp and recovered several items, including five mobile phones.

Governor Sule characterized the arrests as a clear indication of the effectiveness and dedication of the security forces in the state. He urged them to maintain their momentum in the fight against crime and assured them of his administration's continued support in their operations. Furthermore, the governor called on the citizens to remain vigilant and to provide timely and credible information to the security agencies, emphasizing the importance of community cooperation in ensuring peace and security.

In a related development, the Nasarawa State Police Command also reported a successful operation where four kidnapping victims were rescued. This rescue operation took place in the Akwanga Local Government Area, following a distress call about suspected kidnappers near the Megona Filling Station along the Akwanga–Jos Road.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, the Divisional Police Officer quickly mobilized a team of operatives to the scene. Upon arrival, the armed suspects opened fire, resulting in a gunfight. The police responded effectively, forcing the criminals to flee into nearby bushes, leaving behind the victims unharmed. During the operation, several items believed to have been stolen from a nearby store were also recovered.

The Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, praised the officers for their bravery and swift response, describing the rescue as a testament to the police's commitment to safeguarding lives and property. He has ordered a thorough manhunt for the fleeing suspects and has directed that all available resources be utilized to ensure their capture and prosecution.

The police have reiterated the need for public vigilance and cooperation, urging citizens to continue providing timely information that can assist in the fight against crime throughout the state.
