The Northern Vanguard for Asiwaju (NOVA) has expressed its support for Bello Matawalle following his appointment as deputy director of Security and Intelligence I for the 2027 APC Presidential Campaign Council. The group emphasized that Matawalle's extensive grassroots connections in Zamfara and the North West will significantly benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as it gears up for the upcoming elections.

In a statement jointly signed by the group's president, Danladi Haruna, and secretary, Adamu Jaco, NOVA congratulated Matawalle on his new role, describing it as a recognition of his loyalty and strategic importance to the APC. The group highlighted that Matawalle's dedication and contributions to the party and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration have been invaluable.

NOVA is mobilizing support across all 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to ensure a strong backing for President Tinubu in the 2027 elections. The organization has set an ambitious target of 20 million votes, which they believe is both realistic and achievable. This goal reflects their commitment to galvanizing support through a robust network of ward-level coordinators, youth leaders, women leaders, and community figures.

The group stated, "Our structures on the ground are ready. From the wards to the local governments and up to the state levels, we shall leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the good people of the North reward President Tinubu's leadership with a resounding mandate."

NOVA's strategy includes reaching out to traditional rulers, religious leaders, and other progressive organizations in the North to unite behind Tinubu's re-election campaign. They argue that the current administration's policies in areas such as infrastructure, agriculture, security, and economic reform have positively impacted the region, making continuity essential for further progress.
