Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, has publicly expressed feelings of abandonment by the political figures he once supported. In a heartfelt video shared on his Instagram, he described his current state as that of a "lonely voice in the wilderness," reflecting on the sacrifices he made for these politicians who have since distanced themselves from him.

Fayose's grievances trace back to his active involvement in politics, particularly during his brother's tumultuous period with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in 2018. He recalled how he stood by Ayo Fayose during his legal battles, even confronting the then acting EFCC chairman, Ibrahim Magu. "I struggled with my brother. No, no, no, no, we won’t agree. I even followed him to EFCC. We shouted, ‘Magu, Ole! Magu, Ole!’" he stated, highlighting the personal risks he took during that time.

Despite his loyalty, Isaac Fayose now finds himself facing numerous challenges alone. He lamented that he is still embroiled in legal issues stemming from his brother's case, while Ayo's child is set to take a seat in the Ekiti State House of Assembly. "I’m now on my own, facing my problem," he said, emphasizing the isolation he feels as former allies move on with their lives.

His commitment to the political cause was further tested when he cut short his mourning period to assist in the upcoming Ekiti governorship election. He recounted how he hurriedly returned home to support Wole Oluyede, the PDP candidate, despite having just buried his wife. However, he expressed disappointment that Oluyede has since distanced himself, leaving Isaac feeling abandoned once more.

Fayose also touched on the political landscape in Osun State, recalling his involvement in the 2022 and 2026 elections. He mentioned how he was called upon by Governor Ademola Adeleke to assist in his re-election campaign, even while he was abroad. Despite the victory, he felt betrayed when Adeleke quickly aligned with the ruling party in Abuja after the election.

Reflecting on the broader political climate, Isaac Fayose criticized the culture of vote-selling among the electorate, stating that many still choose to sell their votes despite the sacrifices made on their behalf. He noted, "They came to meet me, they gave me money, I said I don’t want. I want my people to go."

In his closing remarks, he expressed a deep sense of loneliness in recognizing the issues plaguing the country, stating, "It’s now like I’m the only one seeing the rubbish going on in my country. I am now alone, now looking like a zombie. It’s lonely at the top." His poignant reflections serve as a reminder of the personal costs associated with political loyalty and the often harsh realities faced by those who support others in the political arena.
