Standard Chartered Bank collaborates with Junior Achievement Nigeria to boost digital skills for youth
Over 600 young Nigerians will benefit from a new Digital Bootcamp Programme aimed at enhancing digital skills.

Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria Limited has announced a partnership with Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) to launch a Digital Bootcamp Programme aimed at providing essential digital skills training to over 600 young Nigerians. This initiative is designed to equip participants with the necessary tools to thrive in the rapidly evolving digital economy.
The bootcamp will take place over a span of 10 days and will focus on hands-on training in various key areas, including project management, data analysis, cybersecurity, UI/UX design, IT support, and digital marketing. The programme targets graduates, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, women, and youth from low-income backgrounds, with the goal of bridging existing skills gaps and enhancing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in Nigeria.
This initiative aligns with the Standard Chartered Foundation's mission to improve youth employability and economic participation. By providing underserved young people with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to succeed in the workforce, the programme aims to address inequality and create pathways to sustainable employment.
In addition to financial support, Standard Chartered Bank will also encourage its employees to engage in the programme through its Skills-Based Volunteering Programme. This will allow bank staff to share their expertise, mentor participants, and contribute directly to nurturing the next generation of digital talent in Nigeria.
Olaolu Akogun, Acting Executive Director of Junior Achievement Nigeria, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "Strong partnerships create lasting impact. We are proud to partner with Standard Chartered in expanding access to digital skills training for young Nigerians. This investment demonstrates a shared commitment to building a workforce that is ready for the opportunities of the digital age."
Joke Adu, Head of Corporate Affairs, Brand & Marketing at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria, highlighted the importance of empowering youth with future-ready skills. She remarked, "We believe that empowering young people with future-ready skills is one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our communities. Through this partnership with Junior Achievement Nigeria, we are helping to equip over 600 young Nigerians with practical digital capabilities that are increasingly essential for employment, entrepreneurship, and economic participation."
As technology continues to reshape industries and redefine workforce requirements, the Digital Bootcamp Programme aims to enhance young people's access to high-demand skills, thereby strengthening Nigeria's digital talent pipeline. This partnership underscores Standard Chartered's commitment to advancing economic inclusion and supporting community initiatives that foster lasting social impact through education, employability, and entrepreneurship.
