MTN Nigeria has officially relaunched its popular Lucky Jackpot campaign, providing subscribers with the opportunity to win substantial cash prizes. The campaign, which is in partnership with Yellow Dots Africa, will run for a total of nine months, divided into three distinct seasons of three months each.

The revamped Lucky Jackpot campaign has already garnered significant interest, with over 1.4 million participants recorded after the first season concluded. During this initial phase, MTN distributed a total of N100 million among ten lucky winners, each receiving a share of the prize money. The winners were celebrated in a ceremony held at MTN Nigeria's headquarters in Lagos.

To participate in the Lucky Jackpot, MTN subscribers simply need to text 'WIN' to the shortcode 4445. The selection of winning numbers is conducted through an automated process, ensuring that there is no human intervention involved in the draw. Aisha Mumuni, MTN's Chief Digital Officer, emphasized the simplicity of the entry process, stating, "It's literally lucky."

The campaign has not only attracted new participants but has also reactivated some dormant SIM cards, encouraging subscribers to return to the network to take part in the draws. One notable winner, Enweazu Blessing, a Lagos-based make-up artist and fashion stylist, won N10 million after participating for just over two months. She discovered the campaign through social media and plans to invest part of her winnings into her business.

Despite the impressive participation figures, Eyitayo Amushan, MTN's Senior Manager for Digital Services Partner Management, indicated that there is still considerable potential for growth. With over 40 million active data subscribers and more than 90 million total subscribers on the network, he noted that reaching 1.4 million participants is just the beginning. Amushan stated, "We are scratching the surface."

The decision to revive the Lucky Jackpot campaign came after MTN conducted a thorough review of its subscriber base and took into account the current economic climate. The collaboration with Yellow Dots Africa is aimed at enhancing the value of the rewards offered to participants.

Looking ahead, MTN is considering additional seasons of the Lucky Jackpot campaign, given the positive response from subscribers during the initial phase. As the campaign progresses, it is expected to continue attracting a larger audience and offering more opportunities for subscribers to win cash prizes.
