A tragic shooting incident near Denver, Colorado, resulted in the death of a police officer and injuries to three others on the evening of November 5. The Lakewood Police Department reported that officers were responding to a call about a suspicious individual near the intersection of Colfax Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard when they encountered the suspect attempting to board a bus.

According to Lakewood Police Public Information Officer John Romero, the situation escalated rapidly. "Within seconds of agents approaching the suspect, the suspect opened fire on our agents," Romero stated during a news conference. This sudden violence led to four officers being struck by gunfire. Sadly, one officer succumbed to their injuries, while the conditions of the three surviving officers have not been disclosed.
