Troops arrest suspected terrorist and kidnappers in Plateau State operations
Security forces in Plateau State have made significant arrests, including a suspected terrorist and two kidnappers, during ongoing operations.

In a series of operations aimed at enhancing security in Plateau State, troops from Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have made notable arrests, including a suspected terrorist and two individuals linked to kidnapping activities.
On November 4, 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m., troops from Sector 2 apprehended a suspect named Abubakar Ango during a stop-and-search operation in Kukawa village, Wase Local Government Area. Security sources revealed that a search of Ango led to the recovery of an AK-47 magazine, a round of 7.62mm Special ammunition, two mobile phones, and quantities of substances believed to be marijuana and other illicit drugs. Additionally, ₦30,000 in cash was seized. Preliminary investigations indicated that Ango is associated with a terrorist syndicate reportedly led by an individual known as Kaura. He is currently in military custody, where further interrogation is underway to ascertain his involvement and identify other members of the syndicate.
In a separate operation, troops from Sector 3 conducted a search-and-rescue mission in the Dong general area of Jos North, resulting in the arrest of two suspected kidnappers. Details regarding the identities of these individuals or the specifics of their alleged crimes have not been disclosed. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by security forces to combat kidnapping and other forms of criminal activity in the region.
These arrests are part of a broader strategy by the military to disrupt criminal networks and enhance safety across Plateau State. The operations reflect the commitment of the Nigerian military to address security challenges and restore peace in areas affected by terrorism and crime.
