Gunmen abduct six, including two teenagers, from Kaduna estate in midnight raid
In a shocking incident, six residents were kidnapped from Nuru Suraj Estate in Kaduna, including two schoolboys.

In a disturbing incident that has heightened security concerns in Kaduna State, suspected kidnappers invaded Nuru Suraj Estate in Millennium City shortly after midnight on Tuesday, abducting six residents, including two teenage boys. The attack, which occurred around 12:00 AM, has left the community in fear and uncertainty.
The assailants gained entry through the estate's second gate and targeted two adjacent houses, seizing eight individuals in total. However, two elderly women were released by the attackers, while the remaining six, which included a family of four and the two schoolboys aged 14 and 13, are still in captivity. The boys are students at local secondary schools, raising alarm among parents and educators in the area.
Abdullahi Wada, a resident whose grandchildren were among those abducted, described the emotional turmoil faced by the families involved. "Anyone who has experienced something like this knows the kind of pain and distress the victims and their families are going through," he stated, urging the government and security agencies to take swift action to ensure the safe return of the captives.
Residents reported hearing gunfire during the invasion, which led to panic throughout the estate. Muhammad Abbas, another resident, recounted how he and his wife were watching television when they heard the shots. "We immediately switched off the television set, and I tried calling a friend but could not reach him. He later called me back to inform me of what had happened," he said.
In response to the attack, military personnel launched a pursuit of the kidnappers, and some victims were reportedly rescued during this operation. However, the exact details of any rescues remain unclear as the Kaduna State Police Command has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. Attempts to reach the police spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful.
The Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Rabiu, along with his team, visited the community to assess the situation and gather information. This incident is part of a troubling trend in Millennium City, which has seen a rise in kidnappings and violent crimes in recent months. Just weeks prior, on October 6, another family was abducted from a nearby estate, although they were later rescued.
The Kaduna State Government has been actively addressing the surge in criminal activities, including the arrest of several suspected kidnappers and informants in recent operations. A delegation from the government, led by the Chief of Staff, has urged residents to collaborate with security agencies to provide credible information that could help dismantle local kidnapping networks.
As the community grapples with this latest incident, the fear of further attacks looms large, prompting calls for enhanced security measures to protect residents from the increasing threat of kidnappers operating in the region.
