In a significant operation aimed at combating terrorism and kidnapping, troops from Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma successfully rescued four individuals who had been abducted in Zamfara and Kebbi states. The rescues occurred on October 21, 2026, as part of the military's ongoing efforts to enhance security in the North West region of Nigeria.

The first rescue took place in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State, where soldiers responded to reports of a terrorist incident. They managed to free Mansur Shehu, 25, and Kadijat Haruna, 49, who were held captive on farmland near Binoni Marafa. This operation underscores the military's commitment to addressing the challenges posed by kidnappers in the area.

In Kebbi State, the troops carried out a search-and-rescue mission after receiving intelligence about suspected terrorists moving with kidnapped victims. This operation led to the liberation of Jimoh Su-Arege, 35, and Kalahe Danjuma, 41, who were subsequently handed over to the Seriki of Dipindu.

The military has emphasized its dedication to intensifying patrols and surveillance across vulnerable communities to enhance security and disrupt the activities of criminal elements. The successful rescues are a testament to the sustained efforts of Operation Fansan Yamma to restore peace and safety in the affected regions.

As the military continues to engage in these operations, they aim to dominate operational areas and deny kidnappers the freedom to operate, thereby providing a safer environment for residents in Zamfara and Kebbi states.
