A 42-year-old woman from Texas, Colleen Nichole Lemmon, has been charged with two counts of capital murder following the deaths of her two sons in a shocking incident that occurred in Waxahachie. The tragic event unfolded early on Thursday morning when local authorities responded to an emergency call at a residence on Big Sky Drive.

Upon arrival at the scene shortly before 4:15 a.m., deputies from the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office discovered both of Lemmon's sons suffering from gunshot wounds. The elder son, 21-year-old Christopher Scott Pitre, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his younger brother, 15-year-old Pitre, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.

Lemmon was also found injured at the home and was subsequently taken to the hospital for treatment. Reports indicate that she had self-inflicted cuts on her wrists and was covered in blood when authorities arrived. A handgun was reportedly located nearby, leading investigators to believe that Lemmon was responsible for the shootings.

According to an arrest affidavit, Lemmon allegedly confessed to officers at the scene, stating, "I shot both my kids." This chilling admission has left the community and the victims' family in shock. The father of the deceased boys, Scott Pitre, expressed his grief, emphasizing that his younger son had only recently celebrated his 15th birthday and calling for justice for his children.

Neighbors have described the incident as heartbreaking, with one resident, Ida Brown, sharing her sorrow and prayers for the family affected by this tragedy. Ellis County Sheriff Brad Norman extended his condolences, stating, "My deepest sympathies go out to the victims’ father, family members, and loved ones involved in this tragic incident. They will remain in our prayers during this difficult time."

Lemmon is currently being held on a $2.5 million bond as investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding the deaths of her sons. Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive for the alleged killings, and the community remains on edge as they await further developments in this heart-wrenching case.
