The Nigerian Army Corps of Artillery is set to conduct its annual live-fire training exercise, known as Exercise Vulcan Glow XII, from October 5 to October 18 in Kachia, Kaduna State. This exercise will occur at the Nigerian Army Military Training Area, as confirmed by a statement from Major G.A. Okupe, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations.

Major Okupe emphasized that the training will involve the use of live ammunition and the movement of military personnel and equipment within the designated area. In light of these activities, he has urged residents, farmers, and local communities to steer clear of the training ground during the entirety of the exercise. He stressed the importance of adhering to safety advisories for the well-being of all individuals in the vicinity.

The Army is also calling on stakeholders and media outlets to help disseminate this information widely, ensuring that the public is fully aware of the exercise and its implications. This training is a crucial part of the Corps’ annual schedule, designed to enhance the skills and proficiency of personnel in artillery operations.

Major Okupe reassured the community that all necessary safety precautions will be implemented throughout the duration of the exercise, aiming to minimize any risks associated with the live-fire activities. Local residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and prioritize their safety during this period.
