Ogun APC Holds Prayer Session as 2027 Elections Approach
The Ogun State APC held a prayer session to seek divine guidance ahead of the 2027 elections.

The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) gathered for an interfaith prayer session on Wednesday, marking a significant step in their preparations for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The party's governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola, expressed his unwavering confidence in the party's prospects, believing that divine intervention would lead to a resounding victory.
During the prayer session, Adeola articulated his faith in God’s support, stating, "That same God that will give us victory on January 16 will also support me to become the seventh Executive Governor of Ogun State." He emphasized his belief that the APC would secure this victory without facing significant opposition, suggesting that other potential candidates were disorganized and lacking party affiliation. "God has started that already," he declared, asserting that the path to victory would be clear.
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of seeking divine guidance as the party prepares for the elections. He reflected on his own political journey, recalling the challenges he faced during the 2019 governorship election and attributing his success to divine intervention. "We have gathered here to seek the Almighty’s face and commit our journey of 2027 into His hands," Abiodun stated, exuding confidence that their prayers would yield positive results.
The governor's remarks underscored a theme of faith and resilience, as he recalled the difficulties of his previous campaign. He affirmed, "God of 2018 is still around, and He will continue to allow us to embark on a smooth transition from a sitting governor to the incoming governor."
The prayer session was not only attended by party leaders but also included participation from the First Lady of Ogun State, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, who read scripture during the proceedings. Pastor J.T. Kalejaye from the Redeemed Christian Church of God delivered a message emphasizing the need for good leadership to foster progress, encouraging attendees to reject evil and seek divine guidance.
The APC's deputy governorship candidate, Mrs. Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun, also contributed to the interfaith session by reading verses from the Holy Quran, reflecting the inclusive spirit of the gathering. The event served as a platform for party members to unite in prayer and express their collective hope for success in the forthcoming elections, setting a tone of optimism as they move closer to the 2027 polls.
