The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has called on the newly inaugurated member representing Udu State Constituency, Hon. Arthur Okolosi, to collaborate with his fellow lawmakers in driving legislative initiatives aimed at enhancing the welfare of the people in his constituency and the broader Delta State. This appeal was made during Okolosi's swearing-in ceremony held on Tuesday, following his recent victory in the Udu State Constituency bye-election.

The bye-election, conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on September 19, 2026, was necessitated by the vacancy declared by the Delta State House of Assembly on July 30, 2026. Okolosi's successful election marks a significant milestone for his political career, as he steps into the role of a lawmaker in the eighth assembly.

During the plenary session, Speaker Guwor administered both the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Membership to Okolosi, in line with the provisions outlined in the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as the Standing Orders governing the House. Guwor expressed his congratulations to Okolosi on his electoral success and assured him of the support from other assembly members as he embarks on his legislative duties.
