In a brazen attack, suspected bandits targeted the base of Operation Burst, a joint security outfit, in Oyo State during the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. along the Igbeti/Igboho road, which lies between the Olorunsogo and Oorelope local government areas.

Operation Burst, established by the late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, comprises personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Army. The security base was reportedly set ablaze by the assailants, who also made off with several items, including a generator and a motorcycle.

Kazeem Olayanju, the chairman of Olorunsogo local government, confirmed the attack in a conversation with DailyPost. He emphasized that, fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident. Olayanju stated, "The information is true. But there is no casualty. They burnt the security post we constructed for them. They also set ablaze an abandoned vehicle there. They also carted away their generator and motorcycle. It occurred today around 5am and 6am."
