The family of Olayinka Oremade, a woman reportedly kidnapped in Ogun State, is urgently appealing for assistance from the Nigeria Police Force and the government to secure her release. Oremade was abducted alongside a staff member on August 14 in the Alapako/Oyebola area while returning from a farm where she was creating content for her business.

According to her son, Oremade Ilerioluwa, the incident unfolded when four armed men ambushed their vehicle. As they attempted to escape, the kidnappers shot out the back tires, leaving Olayinka and her staff with no option but to exit the vehicle. While two staff members managed to flee, Olayinka and another worker were taken by the assailants.

Ilerioluwa recounted the family's distressing experience, stating that they received updates from one of the escaped staff members and reported the incident to the police the following day. Despite the police's initial search efforts, no trace of the victims was found, although the vehicle was located. The police took the escaped staff members in for questioning to gather more information about the kidnapping.

The kidnappers contacted the family the night of the abduction, initially demanding a ransom of N200 million. After negotiations, the amount was reduced to N100 million, which the family has stated they cannot afford. Ilerioluwa revealed that during one of the calls, he spoke directly with his mother, who urged him to seek financial help from relatives to facilitate her release.

In a statement from Olayinka's second son, who chose to remain anonymous, he expressed the emotional toll the abduction has taken on the family. "We have been going through it for the past five days. Every day we wake up hoping that today she will come back home, but there has been no action from the government," he said. The son described the anxiety they feel with each phone call, fearing for Olayinka's safety and well-being.

The family has made a heartfelt plea to the public for any information or assistance that could lead to Olayinka's safe return. They emphasized her importance as a mother, wife, and friend, stating, "Knowing that she’s somewhere out there in the hands of people who have taken away her freedom... I’m in a lot of pain."

In their appeal, the family has urged the Nigeria Police Force and the government to intensify efforts to rescue the two victims, reiterating their inability to pay the ransom. They are calling for increased action to locate and free Olayinka and her colleague, as the situation continues to cause them great distress.

Efforts to reach the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, for comments and updates on the rescue operation have so far gone unanswered, leaving the family and community anxiously awaiting news of their loved ones' fate.
