During the ongoing governorship election in Osun State, voters in Ejigbo Local Government Area have reported confrontations with individuals suspected of distributing cash to influence votes. The incidents were recorded on video at polling units in Ward 4, where voters chased away those they accused of attempting to buy votes.

The first incident occurred around 9:30 am at Unit 7, followed by a similar occurrence at Unit 13 at approximately 10:30 am. Eyewitnesses claimed that the alleged vote buyers fled the scene with cash concealed in a polythene bag. One voter, speaking on the video, expressed frustration over the situation, stating, "We don’t know how much was there. They ran away and used a polythene bag to take the money away."

Despite clear instructions prohibiting cash distribution at polling stations, the accused individuals reportedly continued their activities. Voters expressed their determination to uphold the integrity of the election, stating, "The rule given to us was that we should not give money to anyone. We did not cause any trouble; we were only running after them."

In a show of defiance, some voters displayed cash they claimed to have retrieved from the alleged vote buyers, along with an identification card that bore the logo of the All Progressives Congress (APC). One voter pointed out, "This is the evidence. The card they used belongs to the APC, and their logo is on it."

The polling unit where these incidents took place is associated with Najeem Folasayo Salaam, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, raising questions about the actions of the APC supporters in that area. Voters expressed their concerns about the integrity of the electoral process, particularly in light of the accusations linking the APC to the alleged vote buying.
