Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, is set to inaugurate ten significant projects across the state beginning on August 17, as part of his administration's commitment to grassroots development. This initiative was announced by the Secretary to the Rivers State Government, Dagogo Wokoma, during a press briefing held in Port Harcourt on Friday.
The inauguration schedule, which runs until August 31, will see projects spanning various local government areas, including vital infrastructure such as roads, bridges, healthcare facilities, and educational institutions. Wokoma emphasized that these projects represent concrete steps towards transforming communities and meeting the developmental needs of the state's residents.
The inauguration will kick off with the commissioning of the Buguma-Degema-Abonnema Road, which connects communities in Asari-Toru, Degema, and Akuku-Toru local government areas. Following this, the Egwi-Afara-Mba Road in Etche will be inaugurated on August 18.
On August 20, the governor will unveil the Omademe Internal Roads in Ikwerre Local Government Area, and the New Air Force Base Runway in Port Harcourt will be inaugurated on August 21. The commissioning activities will then continue on August 24 with the Elele-Egbeda-Omoku Dual Carriageway, which traverses Ikwerre, Emohua, and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas.
The schedule also includes the inauguration of the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Entrepreneurship Centre and Engineering Faculty Building in Rumuola, Obio/Akpor on August 25. On August 26, the Agba-Ndele Road and Bridge in Ndele, Emohua will be commissioned, followed by the New Zonal Hospital in Omoku on August 27.
The final two days of the inauguration will focus on healthcare, with the commissioning of the Neuro Psychiatric Hospital and the New General Hospital in Rumuigbo, both located in Obio/Akpor, on August 28. The 11-day program will conclude on August 31 with the inauguration of the Bonny National Grammar School in Bonny Local Government Area.
This series of project inaugurations underscores the Fubara administration's ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure and public services throughout Rivers State, aiming for a more developed and accessible community for all citizens.
