Politician who swore on Quran to remain loyal to Kwankwaso joins APC
A politician loyal to Kwankwaso has switched allegiance to the APC, raising eyebrows in political circles. This move reflects ongoing shifts in Nigerian politics and could impact future elections.
Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, a long-time ally of Kwankwasiyya leader and Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) vice-presidential candidate Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Abdullahi, who had previously sworn on the Qur'an to affirm his loyalty to Kwankwaso after falling out with Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, announced his resignation from the NDC in a letter addressed to the party chairman of Kofar Ruwa Ward in Dala Local Government Area. He said his decision was motivated by frustration over what he described as "failed promises" within the NDC.
Abdullahi said he would now support President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid under the APC. "I have been with Kwankwaso for 29 years but have only benefited from failed promises. I will go to where I will be respected more," Abdullahi said.
