The government, therefore, called on the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to take appropriate measures to regulate the activities of specialised police units operating in the state and ensure that proper procedures are followed during security operations.

It also urged security agencies to activate official channels of communication and coordination with relevant state authorities whenever actionable intelligence is available in order to prevent unnecessary tension among residents.

"‎The government states where ever actionable intelligence exists, official channels of communication and coordination with relevant state authorities should be activated to avoid creating avoidable tension among the populace," the statement added.

While reaffirming its support for legitimate security operations aimed at protecting lives and combating crime, the state government maintained that such exercises must be conducted professionally, responsibly, and in accordance with established operational standards.

The government added that security operations should inspire public confidence rather than fear.

It further assured residents of its commitment to their safety and wellbeing, urging them to remain calm and continue their lawful activities.

According to the statement, the government will continue to engage relevant security authorities to ensure that security operations within the state are conducted in a manner that respects due process and preserves public peace.
