Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have apprehended a woman named Aisha Isah, who was found in possession of 266 rounds of live AK-47 ammunition. The arrest took place during a routine patrol at a toll gate along the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.

According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, the agency's operatives made the discovery while conducting their patrols in the area. However, the agency has not provided details regarding Isah's travel origins or her intended destination, leaving questions about the circumstances surrounding the possession of such a significant quantity of ammunition.

This incident is part of a broader series of operations conducted by NDLEA across Nigeria, which have led to multiple seizures of illicit drugs and the arrest of various suspected traffickers. The agency continues to intensify its efforts to combat drug trafficking and related crimes nationwide.

The Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, known for its heavy traffic, has increasingly become a focal point for law enforcement agencies in their fight against crime, particularly in the wake of rising security concerns in the region. The NDLEA's recent operations highlight the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in ensuring the safety and security of travelers on this major route.

As investigations continue, the NDLEA is expected to provide further updates on the case and any potential links to larger criminal activities. The agency's commitment to curbing the flow of illegal arms and drugs remains a priority as it seeks to enhance public safety across Nigeria.
