ONGA Celebrates World Food Day with Culinary Campaign in Lagos
Promasidor Nigeria's ONGA brand hosts a three-day event in Lagos, promoting local dishes and cooking creativity.

In a vibrant celebration of culinary diversity, ONGA, a seasoning brand from Promasidor Nigeria, recently hosted a three-day event in Lagos to mark World Food Day. The campaign, titled 'Cook Your Way With ONGA,' took place from October 16 to 18, engaging shoppers in food discovery, interactive games, and cooking challenges across various locations in the city.
The festivities kicked off at Jendol Ikorodu, moved to Ikeja City Mall the following day, and concluded at Jendol Ibeju-Lekki. Participants had the opportunity to explore a wide array of local dishes, showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Nigeria. From the Native Rice of the South-South to the popular Jollof rice of the North-Central region, attendees sampled regional favorites and participated in fun activities at the ONGA booth.
A key aspect of the campaign was the 'Cook Your Way with ONGA' plate-building game, where shoppers could test their culinary skills and share their personal food stories. This initiative emphasized the brand's message that cooking is a personal journey, with no single recipe defining a great meal.
Omotayo Olaobaju, the Category Manager for Culinary at Promasidor Nigeria, highlighted the importance of this campaign in connecting with consumers. "World Food Day Cook Your Way with Onga campaign was a fantastic platform to engage directly with our consumers online and offline. Onga believes that cooking is personal, and there is no standard recipe for great tasting meals," she stated.
The event also showcased ONGA's improved Chicken and Beef seasoning cubes, which are designed to enhance the flavor and aroma of meals. The brand encourages consumers to embrace their unique cooking styles, whether following traditional recipes or adding personal twists.
In addition to the in-person activities, ONGA is continuing the celebration online through a digital challenge. Participants can win exciting prizes, including a kitchen makeover, an iPhone 18 Pro, and a fridge, by sharing their unique cooking methods on the ONGA Taste of Home website.
The 'Cook Your Way With ONGA' campaign not only promotes regional food discoveries but also celebrates the individual touches that make every meal special. To stay updated on the campaign and learn more about the digital challenge, consumers can follow ONGA Nigeria on various social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
