Former FRSC Corps Marshal Dauda Biu passes away at 62 in Abuja
Dauda Ali Biu, the former Corps Marshal of the FRSC, has died at the age of 62.

Dauda Ali Biu, who served as the Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has died at the age of 62. Biu passed away on Sunday evening in a hospital located in Abuja, as confirmed by family sources.
His nephew, Adamu-Isa Gunda, disclosed that Biu's remains will be transported to Chikaji, Sabon Gari, Zaria, for burial in accordance with Islamic traditions. Biu is survived by his wife and five children, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to road safety in Nigeria.
Biu's tenure as the Corps Marshal began in July 2022 after he was appointed Acting Corps Marshal by former President Muhammadu Buhari. He took over the role following the retirement of Boboye Oyeyemi, who had completed his term. Biu’s leadership lasted until 2024, during which he focused on enhancing road safety measures across the nation.
Before ascending to the role of Corps Marshal, Biu had a distinguished career within the FRSC, joining the organization in 1988. He held various positions, including Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Finance and Accounts, a role he took on in 2016. His expertise in financial administration was pivotal in overseeing the financial operations of the corps.
Biu was also an academic, holding a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. He was recognized as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of National Accountants (FCNA), underscoring his commitment to professional development and excellence in his field.
The passing of Dauda Biu marks a significant loss for the FRSC and the broader community dedicated to improving road safety in Nigeria. His contributions to the organization and the impact of his work will be remembered by colleagues and the public alike.
