Bendel Insurance has announced the return of goalkeeper Joshua Baba just in time for their upcoming Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 8 fixture against Sporting Lagos. Baba's return follows a period of absence that the club classified as 'absent without official leave' (AWOL).

The goalkeeper had been sidelined due to an injury sustained during the first match of the season against Warri Wolves at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City. After the injury, he was granted a two-week recovery period. However, instead of returning to his club after the recovery, Baba traveled to Plateau State to visit family, missing the deadline to report back to the team.

Bendel Insurance reported that Baba rejoined the squad in Lagos on Saturday night, just ahead of their crucial match against Sporting Lagos. The club is optimistic that his presence will bolster their chances in the upcoming game as they look to secure vital points in the league.

This return is particularly significant for Bendel Insurance, who are eager to improve their performance in the league following a challenging start to the season. With Baba back in the lineup, fans and team officials alike are hopeful for a strong showing against Sporting Lagos, which promises to be an exciting encounter.
