INEC launches voter registration display and PVC distribution in Kebbi State
The Independent National Electoral Commission has started displaying the voter register and distributing PVCs in Kebbi.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially commenced the display of the preliminary voters’ register and the distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in Kebbi State. This initiative, which began on October 9, 2026, is set to run until October 15, covering all 21 local government areas in the state.
Malam Haladu Saadu, the Head of Voter Education at INEC in Kebbi, announced that the exercise is taking place at various registration area centres. He emphasized that after the display and distribution phase, eligible voters will have the opportunity to collect their PVCs directly at polling units. This process aims to ensure that all registered voters can verify their details on the preliminary register and obtain their cards ahead of the upcoming elections.
Despite the importance of this initiative, reports from several display centres indicate a concerning trend of low turnout. Observations revealed that only a handful of residents were present to check the displayed lists at the time of reporting. This raises questions about voter engagement and awareness in the state as the electoral process approaches.
The simultaneous execution of the voters’ register display and PVC distribution across all local government areas is a crucial step in facilitating a smooth electoral process. It provides an essential opportunity for voters to confirm their registration details and ensure they are adequately prepared for future elections.
As the exercise continues, INEC encourages all registered voters in Kebbi State to participate actively, verify their information, and collect their PVCs to ensure their voices are heard in the democratic process.
