A tragic incident has unfolded in Plateau State, where a 16-year-old girl named Salomi Ishaya was brutally killed by unidentified assailants. The attack occurred on the evening of October 4, 2026, as Salomi was making her way home from a river in Luwaran village, located in the Kawam District of Bassa Local Government Area.

According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the attack took place around 7 pm. Troops from Sector 1 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), stationed in Jengre, were alerted to the incident and promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Salomi's lifeless body, while the attackers had already fled the area.

Following the discovery, Salomi's remains were transported to the mortuary at the SDA Hospital Mission in Jengre. The local security forces are currently collaborating with Keystone Security operatives to track down those responsible for this heinous act. Investigations have been initiated to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack and to uncover the motive behind it, which remains unclear at this time.

This incident has raised significant concerns among residents of Bassa Local Government Area, who are calling for increased security measures to protect the community from such violent acts. The local authorities are under pressure to ensure that justice is served and that the perpetrators are apprehended swiftly.
