Fortis Healthcare Launches Information Centre in Abuja for Medical Support
The new centre aims to facilitate access to advanced medical care in India for Nigerians.

Fortis Healthcare has officially inaugurated an Information Centre in Abuja, aimed at assisting Nigerians seeking specialized medical treatment in India. The centre was opened on October 1, 2026, coinciding with Nigeria’s Independence Day, marking a significant step towards enhancing healthcare access for patients and their families.
Located at Suite A0, UYK Hexahub, Balanga Crescent in Garki Area 11, the Fortis Information Centre will serve as a vital local resource for patients. It is designed to provide comprehensive information, guidance, and coordination support for those considering medical treatment in India. The centre is powered by GetWellGo, a healthcare consulting firm based in India that specializes in assisting international patients with their medical journeys.
The inauguration ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting event led by Mrs. Dabney Shall-Holma OON, the Managing Director and CEO of Hubs Maritime Services Ltd. The event was well-attended by prominent figures from Nigeria’s business and medical sectors, including renowned doctors and business leaders, highlighting the growing interest in international healthcare collaborations.
The Fortis Information Centre aims to bridge the gap between Nigerian patients and Fortis Healthcare’s extensive network of hospitals and specialists in India. Patients can access a range of services including treatment options, medical opinions, treatment estimates, and appointment coordination with specialists.
Fortis Healthcare Limited is recognized as one of India’s leading integrated healthcare providers, boasting a network of 36 healthcare facilities across 12 states and union territories, with over 6,000 operational beds. The organization offers specialized care in various fields such as cardiac sciences, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, and organ transplantation, among others.
One of the key advantages of Fortis hospitals is their access to advanced medical technologies. For instance, their cancer care facilities utilize MR LINAC technology, which allows for real-time imaging during radiation treatment, enhancing precision in targeting tumors. Additionally, Fortis is known for its capabilities in robot-assisted surgeries, which provide minimally invasive options for patients.
The Abuja Information Centre will inform patients about a wide array of treatment options available at Fortis hospitals, including complex cardiac surgeries, cancer treatments, and specialized procedures for conditions like sickle cell disease. The centre will also assist patients in navigating the complexities of medical travel, including the review of medical records, obtaining specialist opinions, and coordinating appointments.
Nishant Jain, Head of the Fortis Information Centre in Abuja, emphasized the goal of the initiative, stating, "Our objective is to create a reliable bridge between patients in Nigeria and specialized healthcare services in India. Patients should be able to understand their treatment options, receive expert medical opinions, and make informed decisions before travelling."
The establishment of this centre signifies a commitment to strengthening healthcare links between Nigeria and India, providing Nigerian patients with greater access to advanced medical care. With its operations commencing on a day of national significance, the Fortis Information Centre is set to play a crucial role in supporting patients as they explore treatment options beyond their borders.
