Kwara Police Launch Two Hospitals to Enhance Community Healthcare Services
The Kwara State Police Commissioner inaugurated hospitals in Offa and Omu-Aran, emphasizing improved healthcare.

In a significant move to bolster healthcare delivery, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Ojo Adekimi, has inaugurated two police hospitals located in Offa and Omu-Aran. The launch, held on Friday, aims to provide quality medical care to both police personnel and the surrounding communities.
During the ceremonies, Adekimi emphasized the importance of these facilities in addressing medical emergencies, stating, "Saving lives remains the immediate priority in medical emergencies." He expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers and residents for their support in establishing the hospitals, which are staffed by qualified medical professionals.
The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi, Esuwoye II, praised the initiative as a vital contribution to public welfare. He urged the police authorities to maintain high standards of service at the new facility. Similarly, the Chairman of Offa Local Government Area, Suleiman Olatunji Omituntun, encouraged residents to utilize the hospital and support its ongoing development.
In Omu-Aran, the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Abdulraheem Oladele Adeoti Agboluaje, played a crucial role by donating additional land for the expansion of the hospital. He highlighted the facility's potential to cater to the healthcare needs of the growing population and assured continued community support for the project.
Adekimi, alongside the Olomu, also participated in laying the foundation for the upgrade of the Omu-Aran Police Hospital into a multispecialist facility. This expansion is part of a broader initiative to enhance healthcare access across the state.
Dr. Abdulquadri Balogun, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Medical Services in Kwara State, revealed plans to establish police hospitals in all Area Commands within the state. He noted that the multispecialist upgrade is aimed at improving access to quality and affordable healthcare, reinforcing the police's commitment to personnel welfare and community relations.
This initiative reflects ongoing efforts by the police to strengthen their ties with local communities while prioritizing the health and wellbeing of both officers and residents. The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, and the Force Medical Director, AIG Dr. Nkechi Eze, were acknowledged for their roles in facilitating this health sector development.
