Nigerian troops from Sector 7 of Operation Enduring Peace have successfully thwarted a kidnapping attempt in Kaduna State, rescuing a man who sustained injuries during the incident. The attempted abduction took place along the Godogodo–Gidan Waya road in Jema’a Local Government Area in the early hours of Friday, October 2, 2026.
According to reports, the troops were alerted to the situation around 12:09 a.m. and quickly mobilized to the scene. Their swift response disrupted the operation of the suspected kidnappers, forcing them to flee the area. In the course of the incident, a man identified as Baba was shot and injured. The troops provided immediate assistance, evacuating him to the General Hospital in Gidan Waya for urgent medical treatment.
Security sources have indicated that efforts are currently underway to track down the fleeing suspects. The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region, where banditry and kidnapping have become prevalent issues affecting local communities.
