A significant show of political support unfolded in Arogbo, the administrative center of Ese-Odo Local Government Area in Ondo State, as the Ondo Riverine for Tinubu and Ojogo group, in partnership with the Apoi Youths Congress, organized a solidarity walk. This event aimed to rally backing for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election campaign and Hon. Donald Kimikanboh Ojogo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency in the upcoming general elections.

The rally attracted a diverse crowd, including youths, women, community leaders, and supporters from Apoi, Arogbo, and nearby riverine communities. Participants marched through the town’s key streets, chanting slogans and displaying banners that expressed their support for both Tinubu and Ojogo.

The event was backed by Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, and facilitated by Hon. Kolade Victor Akinjo, a former member of the House of Representatives. This solidarity walk is part of a broader grassroots mobilization strategy by pro-Tinubu factions in the Ondo South Senatorial District, aimed at strengthening support for the President in coastal regions as the 2027 elections approach.

During the walk, Comrade Arekete Joshua, Chairman of the Apoi Youths Congress, praised Tunji-Ojo for his steadfast support, referring to him as the group’s Grand Patron. Joshua highlighted the minister’s financial and moral contributions, which he said have been vital in keeping the group engaged in various activities across riverine communities. He emphasized that the solidarity walk was a testament to the commitment of riverine youths to Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and to ensuring Ojogo’s return to the National Assembly.

"We are here today to show that the riverine people are fully behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Hon. Donald Ojogo. We believe in their leadership and we will continue to mobilize our people from house to house, community to community," Joshua stated.

Joshua Akinte, the Director-General of the Ondo Riverine for Tinubu Support Group, expressed gratitude to the minister for sponsoring the event and commended the large turnout. He underscored the significance of the event as a platform for supporters to openly align with Tinubu’s re-election efforts and Ojogo’s candidacy. Akinte also called for unity and peaceful engagement among the youths in Ilaje and Ese-Odo, stressing the importance of violence-free political participation for the growth of democracy.

Participants expressed their motivations for joining the rally, citing appreciation for the Federal Government’s initiatives in riverine areas and a desire for continuity in leadership. The organizers concluded the event by thanking attendees for their peaceful demeanor and announced plans to extend their mobilization efforts to additional communities in Ilaje and Ese-Odo in the weeks ahead.
