A farmer identified as Mr. Caleb Bulus has been arrested in Plateau State after allegedly assaulting a herder named Abubakar Abdullahi. The incident occurred in Kwanga village, located within the Jos North Local Government Area, on September 25, 2026.

According to security sources, the confrontation arose over the destruction of crops on Bulus's farm, which Abdullahi is accused of causing. The altercation escalated, leading to Bulus physically assaulting the herder. The incident was reported to the authorities at around 4:45 p.m., prompting a swift response from troops of Sector 1, Sub-Sector 12.

Abdullahi sustained injuries during the assault and was subsequently taken to the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH) for medical treatment. Meanwhile, Bulus was arrested by security personnel and transferred to the Keystone Authority in Jos for further investigation.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to prevent any potential escalation of tensions between the farmer and herder communities in the region.
