A tragic incident occurred in Ibadan on Tuesday evening when a commercial bus driver, identified as Ibrahim, collapsed and died while transporting passengers. The unfortunate event took place near the Apete garage in the Ido Local Government Area around 6:30 PM.

Ibrahim was driving a bus full of passengers along the Apete-Sango route and had just crossed the Apete bridge on his return journey from Sango when he experienced difficulties. Eyewitnesses reported that the bus suddenly came to a halt, prompting him to exit the vehicle to investigate the issue.

While attempting to assess the situation, Ibrahim unexpectedly slumped and lost consciousness. Despite efforts to rush him to the hospital, he was pronounced dead before reaching medical assistance. The exact cause of his death remains unclear as authorities continue to gather information.

As of Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed that the incident had not yet been reported to the police, indicating a potential oversight in documenting such critical events.
