A lobbying firm associated with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has issued a warning that it may unveil damaging allegations against President Bola Tinubu during the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, made this announcement via a post on its verified X account on Monday.

The firm claims that a proposed meeting between President Tinubu and former U.S. President Donald Trump, scheduled to occur on the sidelines of the UNGA, will not happen. According to the lobbying firm, members of the Trump administration have indicated that Trump will not engage in a private meeting with Tinubu, whom they accuse of involvement in heroin trafficking.

In their statement, Von Batten-Montague-York acknowledged that despite the allegations, President Tinubu is entitled to attend the UNGA under the access and transit protections afforded to representatives of United Nations member states. The firm expressed its anticipation for Tinubu's attendance but warned that he would face significant embarrassment at the assembly.

"From reports we have seen, from South Africa to Italy, world leaders attending the UNGA will be fully aware of the heroin-trafficking allegations against President Tinubu," the firm stated. They further claimed that if authorized, they would implement a plan to ensure that residents within a six-mile radius of the UN Headquarters in New York are informed about the allegations against the Nigerian leader.
