As the countdown to the 2027 general elections begins, the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has expressed its contentment with the list of candidates for governorship and State Assembly positions released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This announcement was made during an interview in Abuja by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Araba Rufus Ayenigba, on Sunday.

Ayenigba stated that the SDP is pleased with the accuracy of the candidates' list across all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He emphasized that the party has no grievances regarding the nominations, asserting that all names were correctly listed as submitted by the SDP.

"Our great party, the SDP, has no issues with the list of our 2027 governorship and State Assembly candidates as released by INEC," Ayenigba remarked. He further noted that there are no internal conflicts or dissatisfaction within the state chapters of the party concerning the candidate list.

In light of this development, Ayenigba urged INEC to adhere strictly to the established rules and guidelines to ensure that the electoral process is conducted smoothly and successfully in the upcoming elections. The SDP's positive feedback reflects a commitment to a transparent and organized electoral process as the nation gears up for the polls.

The party's satisfaction with INEC's candidate listing may also serve to bolster confidence among its supporters as the 2027 elections approach, highlighting the importance of effective communication and collaboration between political parties and electoral bodies in Nigeria.
