In a significant military operation, the Nigerian Army, in collaboration with the Office of the National Security Adviser Tactical Team, has successfully dismantled a Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorist camp located in the Kopre Mountain area of Hong Local Government Area, Adamawa State. This operation took place in the early hours of Wednesday, following credible intelligence regarding the terrorists' activities in the region.

During the operation, troops from Operation Hadin Kai engaged the militants in two separate encounters, resulting in the neutralization of 21 terrorists. Reports indicate that some militants managed to escape with gunshot wounds. In addition to the fatalities, the military destroyed the terrorists' logistics infrastructure, recovering several AK-47 rifles, magazines, and a substantial quantity of 7.62mm ammunition. Other items seized included motorcycles, bicycles, and jerrycans filled with Premium Motor Spirit.

Captain Mohammed Goni, the Acting Military Information Officer for the Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), emphasized that this operation was part of ongoing efforts to rescue victims abducted from the Mussa community and the Lassa area. He stated, "The Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, remains resolute in sustaining aggressive, intelligence-driven operations aimed at locating and rescuing abducted persons, dismantling terrorist strongholds, degrading their logistics and fighting capabilities."

The military has intensified search and rescue operations to ensure that all abducted individuals are located and freed. The high command of the military commended the troops and the ONSA Tactical Team for their gallantry, professionalism, resilience, and seamless coordination during the operation. They noted that this successful mission further demonstrates the forces' capability to project combat power into challenging terrains and effectively deny terrorists the freedom to operate.

This operation highlights the ongoing commitment of the Nigerian military to combat terrorism and restore peace in affected regions, as they continue to engage in intelligence-led operations against Boko Haram and ISWAP militants.
