"For the first time, I felt like I wanted to Japa" - Nigeria-based Korean lady married to a Nigerian man recounts how newborn baby was handled at NIN office

A Korean woman based in Nigeria and married to a Nigerian man has shared her frustration after taking her newborn baby to a NIN office as part of the process of obtaining his passport.

In a video shared online, she said she became upset after an officer allegedly handled her baby's fingers roughly while attempting to capture his fingerprints.

"For the first time in my whole stay in Nigeria, I felt like I wanted to japa because this happened to my baby," she said.

According to her, they had to visit the office three times because of issues encountered during the process.

She explained that on one of the visits, the staff member attending to them became ill, while the information needed to process the baby's passport was reportedly stored on his phone and could not be retrieved.

On their third visit, she said they still had to take the baby's photograph in an office filled with people, some of whom were coughing.

She described the experience as "horrible."
