Nigerian singer Rollex Dee has been granted bail set at N100 million by the Lagos State High Court after spending approximately two months in police detention. The decision, made on August 21, 2026, comes amid growing public concern and advocacy for his release, particularly from human rights activist Omoyele Sowore.

The court's ruling requires Rollex Dee to present two sureties, each responsible for N50 million. Notably, one of these sureties must be a family member, a condition that could complicate his ability to secure the bail and regain his freedom, according to MC Bokujaka, who has spearheaded an online campaign advocating for the singer's release.

Rollex Dee's legal troubles began in April 2026 when he was arrested on allegations of defaming and cyberbullying fellow musician Taye Currency during an interview on the Agbaletu programme. Although he was released shortly after, he faced further legal issues in July when he was reportedly re-arrested after being summoned to a reconciliation meeting by the Oyo State Police Command.

The tension between Rollex Dee and Taye Currency stems from their past affiliations, as Rollex was once a supporter of Taye during his disputes with other artists, including Pasuma. However, following a fallout between the two musicians, Rollex allegedly disclosed sensitive information about Taye, leading to his current legal predicament.

The case has garnered significant attention on social media, with many fans expressing outrage over the length of Rollex Dee's detention. MC Bokujaka's campaign has highlighted the singer's plight, calling for justice and a fair resolution to the ongoing legal battle.

As Rollex Dee navigates the complexities of his bail conditions, the music community and his supporters remain hopeful for a swift resolution that will allow him to return to his career and personal life. The developments in this case continue to unfold, drawing interest from fans and observers alike.
