Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after securing victory in the recent governorship election held on August 15, 2026. The presentation took place in a ceremony that marks the formal validation of his mandate for a second term in office.

The announcement of the certificate presentation was made by Olalekan Badmus, the Special Assistant on Digital Media to the Governor, through a post on X. In the August 15 election, Adeleke, who ran under the Accord party, emerged victorious by winning 19 out of the 30 local government areas in Osun State. His closest rival, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), managed to secure victory in 11 local government areas. The election results were officially declared on Sunday, paving the way for Adeleke's re-election.
