The All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised serious allegations against the Osun State government, claiming that political thugs have been imported into the government house just a day before the governorship election. This alarming assertion was made by Mr. Kehinde Ayantunji, representing the APC campaign media committee, during a press briefing in Osogbo.

Ayantunji stated that intelligence reports indicated a significant influx of thugs, allegedly brought in from Lagos, under the leadership of individuals identified by the codenames Olowe and Iberu. He expressed concerns that these thugs were strategically positioned to disrupt the electoral process, particularly in Osogbo and surrounding areas such as Egbedore, should the election not favor their party.

"As I’m speaking to you now, we have intelligence that a large number of political thugs have been mobilised into the government house. In the last two hours, they have been moving in and out, and our intelligence has confirmed that most of these people are not from this State," Ayantunji claimed.

He detailed the vehicles used by these individuals, including a dark ash Lexus Jeep and a red Volkswagen Golf, asserting that their presence is intended to create chaos in key wards such as Ward 5 in Osogbo and various wards in Egbedore Local Government.

The APC further emphasized the urgency of their claims, stating that they have gathered pictorial evidence to support their allegations. Ayantunji urged the public and international observers to hold the Accord Party and Governor Ademola Adeleke accountable for any potential violence against voters, suggesting that the governor is complicit in shielding these thugs.

He expressed frustration with security agencies, questioning their inaction in apprehending the alleged thugs within the government house. "We find it very difficult to believe why it’s difficult for security agents to arrest these thugs in the government house," he said.

The APC's accusations come at a critical time as the state prepares for the governorship election, raising concerns about the integrity of the electoral process in Osun State.
