Governors from Ekiti and Kogi States meet with Senator Omisore to rally support for APC candidate Oyebamiji.

As the governorship election in Osun State approaches, the governors of Ekiti and Kogi States have engaged in strategic discussions with former Deputy Governor of Osun, Senator Iyiola Omisore. This meeting, held on Friday, is part of the All Progressives Congress's (APC) efforts to consolidate support for their candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the polls scheduled for Saturday.
The meeting was announced by Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications. The governors, Abiodun Oyebanji of Ekiti and Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi, emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, describing it as a pivotal moment in the political landscape of Osun State. They encouraged Omisore to leverage his political influence and network to bolster Oyebamiji’s campaign.
In their discussions, the governors urged party members to set aside previous disagreements and focus on the collective goal of securing victory for the APC. They highlighted the significance of supporting the economic reforms initiated by President Bola Tinubu, asserting that these reforms have enhanced the developmental prospects of states across Nigeria.
Omisore expressed gratitude for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to the APC’s success and to Oyebamiji’s candidacy. He stated, “I want to thank the two governors for coming to see me and for the honour they have done me. I remain committed to the success of our party and to the emergence of our candidate, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, as the next Governor of Osun State.”
The former APC National Secretary acknowledged that past conflicts had been resolved, emphasizing that the priority now lies in the party's victory and the advancement of Osun State. He also revealed that he has mobilized his political network in preparation for the election, declaring it a “must-win” for the APC.
“I have activated my political structure. For us, tomorrow’s election is a must-win. I am very optimistic about our chances because the people of Osun are progressive-minded. We are going into this election with confidence, unity and a clear determination to deliver victory for Bola Oyebamiji and the APC,” Omisore stated.
With the election just hours away, the APC is intensifying its campaign efforts, rallying support from key stakeholders to ensure a successful outcome in what is considered a crucial election for the party and the state.
