Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Sunday visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his residence in the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun State, alongside former Osun State governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and former Ekiti State governor, Kayode Fayemi.

Makinde disclosed the visit in a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, where he shared photographs of the meeting.

According to the governor, the discussions focused on key national issues ahead of the forthcoming general election.

He wrote, "Earlier today, we visited Baba, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, in Abeokuta. Our discussions centred on important national issues in view of the upcoming general election."

Makinde added, "We appreciate Baba for his wise counsel at this crucial time in our nation's history."

The meeting comes amid growing political consultations and realignments ahead of the 2027 general election, with political leaders across party lines holding strategic engagements on the country's future.
